It was a sunny Sunday day in Stockholm, and so we decided to take a boat trip to the south side of the city and to finally visit the showroom of Fogia. The location is absolutely stunning, and so the whole concept of having many things under the same roof. I was really positively impressed by this place, and I hope to return very soon. If you keep reading this blog post, I will tell you more about this award-winning Swedish design company and their headquarter.
Fogia's workplace, showroom and cafe' located in Finnboda, Nacka
Located in a converted warehouse in the South-East of Stockholm, the best way to reach the showroom is by boat from Nybroplan and this service is included in the Swedish Public Transport fare. The place benefits of a unique location by the seaside with long windows allowing plenty of natural light inside the area. Fogia has established here, not only its showroom but also its workplace with even a cafe' open to public. What a great use of such a large space!
Fogia was established in 1981 by two Swedish pioneers manufacturers of plexiglass creating striking tables and storage. In the following years the company grew, producing other furniture and it was baptised Fogia Collection in 1986. Their furnitures, I would say, they still respect the Nordic roots and origins incorporating a modern accent to them. The design is smooth, sleek and timeless. Any piece can adapt perfectly in any precedent aesthetic adding character and an interesting focus point.

Fogia collaborates with different designers this is why every piece is very unique. They have their own factory in Gdansk, Poland and therefore they are able to apply different finishes and fabrics to your desired order. A very exclusive sofa is Supersoft design by Studio Luca Nichetto. I had the pleasure to see the launch of this smooth and incredible soft sofa at the Stockholm Furniture Fair this year, if you missed the article you can read it here. This sofa is so versatile to fit any space you have as it is completely modular, you can have it as 2 seater sofa, with chaise, coffee table, with or without armrests.

In the showroom there were also some iconic Italian lighting pieces from Flos, complementing the Nordic style furniture really well. I am delighted to see how easily these two completely different design styles complement each other, pulling together an exclusive contemporary look that would make my dream home come true.

Overall it is a really nice day, in such a beautiful location in the South of Stockholm, by the seaside and we enjoyed also a delicious lunch served in the cafe' inside the showroom. Such a brilliant idea to attract more visitors and make the most of all the available space.
