Host and architecture historian Kevin McCloud will bring you around some of Britain's most ambitious self-building projects, as fearless individuals attempt to design and construct the home of their dreams. This is the first every design series I started to follow, and every time it awoke in me the desire to start building, to believe in my ideas and complete no matter how hard it is, all my dreams. You can find the episodes here.
Interior Design Masters
In this serie, amateur or beginner designers compete to receive a commercial contract for a famous hotel in London. They will show their skills in different commercial projects around Britain, judged by former Elle Decoration editor-in- UK Michelle Ogundehin. I watched the whole serie in four days as I really loved it. The designers were all incredible, especially towards the last projects and Michelle has so much knowledge of interior design, it is super useful to listen to hear recommendations if you are also a design student or amateur. You find it on Netflix (availability may depend on location).
I haven't watched this documentary yet, but it is on my bucket list. It seems going through the crucial matter of compulsory consumption and whether things we own really makes us happy. A very wise lesson, mostly in these days when we have extra time to reconsider our homes and our possessions. It is available on Netflix (availability may depend on location).
