One bedroom flat - Residential Live Project
Kungsholmen, Stockholm (2017)

The Brief:  A couple of young professionals wished for a contemporary Scandinavian scheme with splash of vibrant colours and something that could remind them their passion for the outdoors and green vegetation. The property was a city rental flat of about 40m2, located on the trendy island of Kungsholmen, 10 mins by walk from the city's main attractions. The kitchen and bathroom's flat were already refurbished by the landlord, leaving to the couple a fairly white box to decorate.

Budget: 3,000-4,000 euro

My Response: I decided that the overall palette will include neutral colours and anthracite grey (the client did not ask to paint the walls) with pop of mustard yellow and greens. As already so much white was present in a north-facing flat (barely some natural sunlight in the early mornings), I decided to introduce walnut furniture to give warmth. To enhance the outdoor feeling and for the proven benefits of greenery on mental health and air quality, I introduced tropical plants in the scheme. I completed the design scheme with lighting in brass for the living room and silver in the bedroom.

Skills: Mood board, sourcing furniture and styling.
