Crisp mornings, shorter days and yellow leaves falling from the trees call for autumn; the season were it is mandatory to lit candles, sip endless cups of hot tea and cuddle in bed under the warm blankets. I am sure that for many of you, like me, are already a bit nostalgic of the long daylight of summer days. Nevertheless, we can try to enjoy this new of season as best as we can. Personally, I enjoy cooking anything with the local Swedish mushrooms called "kantarelli", creamy risotto, pasta sauce, with toasted bread...you name it! Secondly, of course, I enjoy decorating our apartment with the autumn colours, so I change the cushion covers, the tablecloth and the bed linens. They are small budget-friendly changes but if you would like to change more, I hope you will like the mood boards that I have pulled together and that you will find the following steps useful to identify your style.

Another edition of the Stockholm Furniture & Lights Fair has recently occurred. With our greatest pleasure, we returned to the fair and we were impressed by all the stunning products we saw. High quality materials, creative design and the launch of new products, everything under the same roof.  We met again some familiar names from last year, and some new ones. If you have missed the fair last year, you can read all about it here.
This edition reminds me as well, that it is one year anniversary for my blog on this platform. It is rewarding to see the improvements of my writing and editing skills compared to the first articles. I have in project to keep learning and develop my blog alongside my studies at KLC School of Design.

Here below, I will share with you insights and trends from Stockholm and the other Scandinavian countries. I hope all the Nordic style lovers will find lots of inspiration, and so any design lover.

Unfortunately my family could not join us, however I will visit them in Padova very soon. With this blog post, I would like to show you how I styled my flat for Christmas. I really enjoyed it this year and I have chosen the typical palette of red, green, white and rust with accessories in brass finish. I hope you will like my flat and that it will inspire you for next Christmas.

This gorgeous style finds its roots in the hot and torrid Mediterranean countries in Southern Italy, the Greek Islands and Morocco.
The high temperatures during the summer months, the flourishing Mediterranean vegetation and the proximity to the seaside, have always had a high impact on the interiors and houses of this region.

Even if you are located far away from these scenarios, you can still style your home with the same typical features.
Here a mini guide through the characteristic elements of the Mediterranean style,
to bring that charm into your home.

If you live in a historical property, be always respectful of its history and try to style it enhancing its previous function and use. Find out typical furnitures of that age and with the help of a skilful carpenter, reproduce some of that furnitures. Mediterranean style is very antique and therefore very beautiful and very charming.

For the first time this year, we managed to visit the extraordinary Salone del Mobile during Milan Design Week 2019.
If you are not familiar with the event I will explain it to you here: it is a major event for architects, designers, interior designers, contractors, lighting designers, interior bloggers, and anyone working (or loving) within the main topic: Design.
The Design Week is divided into two events that stroll during the week: the Fuorisalone and the Salone del Mobile.
At Fuorisalone, anyone can visit showrooms of interior and lighting brands, plus in the city you will find exhibitions held by famous designers and architects. This is the most artistic and creative event and what distinguishes Milan Design Week from others in the world. We decided to focus on only one event, the Salone del Mobile.

This event is held in the pavilions of Rho-Fair, a bit outside Milan city centre. The space was very large and we could not visit all in the only day available. Here, we found many inspirational brands for indoor and outdoor
furnitures.
From the most famous iconic Italian brands, like Minotti, Giorgetti, Poliform, Flexform, Porada, to some new discoveries like Mambo Unlimited Ideas, Casa, Pianca Design & more.
Everything was stunning, innovative and of very high quality like only the "Made in Italy" can provide.

Here below a summary of the trends and most extraordinary furnitures we explored.

Welcome Spring into your home

7/3/2019

Spring, spring, spring... when I think about this season it comes into my mind my mother saying: do not forget your umbrella...it is spring! When I was a teenager with rebellious curly hair and with the hair straightener as my best friend, having the umbrella was really important, and even if I do not have my mother anymore to remind me that
(she lives in my hometown, Padova) I still carry it everywhere.

Nowadays, I use it mostly to protect me from the Scandi wind and snow...oh yes, still snowing a bit up here ufffff.....
The funny thing is that I wrote this blog on a beautiful sunny day, completely unaware of what would happen the day after.
I thought of waiting to post it, but then, I wondered what is really keeping us from dreaming of a Spring?
So I hope you will get along dreaming with me and preparing your home for the most beautiful season of the year.

Inspiration from Stockholm Light & Furniture Fair 2019

As every year in February, Stockholm opened its Design Week showing the latest trends from the capital of Scandinavia. Ambrosi Interiors & Styling went to explore the Stockholm Light & Furniture Fair 2019 looking for inspiration to share with you that I will present following below.
We were positively impressed by the quality of the craftsmanship presented among the exhibitors. We loved the wooden Scandinavian style furnitures, which I personally like very much. This hand made cabinet with the coordinated mirror, captivated our attention. A very refine work with different wooden shades and shapes.

How to create a contemporary Scandinavian style into your home

22/2/2019

Simple, minimalist, functional and cozy are the words I use the most when describing the
contemporary Scandinavian style.

Before moving to Stockholm in 2015, I was already familiar with the most iconic nordic design brands and how in Northen Europe, with its long and dark winters, interiors play a crucial role in the daily life.
For me, what represents the most the Scandinavian design are the symbolic pieces of the 60s, years where we assisted to the birth of products such as: the Danish Wegner Chair by Hans Wegner, the Tulip Chairs and Tulip Table by Eero Saarinen, the Artichoke light pendant by Poul Henningsen, not to mention the popular Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen.

While strolling around the streets of Stockholm, the capital of Scandinavia, I discovered so many new trends and a new way of thinking and creating interiors. Nordic interior design is more innovative and curios to experiment new things, with still a total respect, for what has been already done in the past.
Let's discover then what it takes to create a contemporary Scandinavian style that you can re-create into your home, whenever you are.
