Regardless if you are a frequent traveller or not, I think that a luxury boutique hotel design scheme is always so dreamy. That feeling of fresh linens and luxurious towels in your bathroom, the soft rug under your feet, the lights always creating cozy atmospheres, the breakfast in bed. These are all things and emotions that we can still celebrate every day, at our home. Personally, I could totally see myself in one of those rooms , and this is why I would love to give you some tips and ideas to create this luxury boutique hotel style at home.
One of my greatest passion in interiors has always been lighting design. I think there is nothing more exciting to pick and it can make such a big impact into your design scheme. When working for Tom Dixon Design in London, I had the amazing opportunity to learn about many technical aspects of lights and to create different lighting schemes for our clients. In my experience, I learned how crucial is to plan your lighting design ahead and how much it affects your overall living experience.
A client once told me that they bought an apartment and then started, on their own, some refurbishment works with electricians they found online. They wanted to add spot lights in the corridors and in the kitchen and have a pendant light in the living room. Unfortunately, they did not prepare any plan for the contractors whom had to work on the spot, without a clear brief and measurements. They ended up having an overdue amount of spot lights and the pendant light in the living room was not located where they hoped to. Together with the clients, we planned a new lighting scheme and reduced the number of spots lights and, finally, they could have the pendant light where they wished. These mistakes, and all extra costs included to repair to them, they can be easily avoid if you plan ahead where your lights will be located, the correct amount, the distance and the type of light you will use.
And so finally you are becoming parents, how lovely! The most exciting nine months of your life are ahead... waiting and imaging how that little one will look like. I do not have any kids (and not planning for now) but I know the emotions and those feelings through some close friends whom became extraordinary moms last year. While waiting for their babies, I have noticed a pretty common pattern...preparing the nest! Oh yes mama! Like a good mama bird, they all started organising everything they thought the baby would need. I think it is kinda of a common impuls to help us calm down from the excitement and to realise that it is actually happening! Here below, I have some tips to prepare your nest in the best way, without spending a fortune and with some considerations.
I am an Italian interior designer, living in Stockholm, Sweden. I have studied and worked in London before moving here, almost four years ago. Stockholm is one of the most fast growing European capital. With lots of expats, as well as Swedes from the countryside moving to the capital city, it is a real struggle to find a place to call home.
Many of us live in second hand rented flat (myself included!), which unfortunately limits our interior design potentials. Nobody is really keen on getting that glamorous wallpaper on some walls, they will never own. It doesn't mean that we can not have the stunning home we all wish for. Here below, some advice after my own personal experience, on where to invest money and where to save... keep reading!
Spring, spring, spring... when I think about this season it comes into my mind my mother saying: do not forget your umbrella...it is spring! When I was a teenager with rebellious curly hair and with the hair straightener as my best friend, having the umbrella was really important, and even if I do not have my mother anymore to remind me that (she lives in my hometown, Padova) I still carry it everywhere.
Nowadays, I use it mostly to protect me from the Scandi wind and snow...oh yes, still snowing a bit up here ufffff..... The funny thing is that I wrote this blog on a beautiful sunny day, completely unaware of what would happen the day after. I thought of waiting to post it, but then, I wondered what is really keeping us from dreaming of a Spring? So I hope you will get along dreaming with me and preparing your home for the most beautiful season of the year.
Whether you are planning a full makeover or you are just interested in refreshing your home, to put an end to the hibernation period, I have some tips and tricks for you right below.
As every year in February, Stockholm opened its Design Week showing the latest trends from the capital of Scandinavia. Ambrosi Interiors & Styling went to explore the Stockholm Light & Furniture Fair 2019 looking for inspiration to share with you that I will present following below.
We were positively impressed by the quality of the craftsmanship presented among the exhibitors. We loved the wooden Scandinavian style furnitures, which I personally like very much. This hand made cabinet with the coordinated mirror, captivated our attention. A very refine work with different wooden shades and shapes.
