Experiential Stay - Commercial Project
|
The brief: Our client, an independent advertising agency, asked us to design an hotel room for a short stay that would wow their guests, encouraging them to share their experience on social media . The room would have to be very alternative with interesting shapes, materials and furniture that would make the guests question living norms. The location is a re-cycled shipping container in the hectic and creative hub area of Shoreditch in East London. It was important for the client to reflect in the design scheme their particular ethos "Intelligence Misbehaviour". This is the second project of the Foundation Degree in Interior Design.
My Response: I created a scheme that would inspire a "multi-sensational" experience for the guests. Based on the colours psychology theory, a palette of vibrant colours with red and purple were chosen, as these colours are associated with energy, happiness and creativity. The scheme was reinforced by playful furniture that would contribute to a relaxed and fun environment. A "wow-factor" was introduced by twisted chandeliers that will enhance and reflect the natural light from the large windows. A bespoke joinery was designed to provide storage for clothes and a mini bar with refreshments, snacks, tea and coffee. Skills: Technical drawing, perspective sketching, rendering, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro and SketchUp. |
